For more than 40 years, Peter E. Droubay, MD, served as a California-based physician focused on internal medicine. For many years he shared time as a hospitalist, an ICU provider, and an outpatient clinic doctor. Most recently, he cared for patients at several skilled nursing facilities in the Davis area. He also led three of these facilities as medical director. He worked from 1978 to 1994 as an independent medical provider before joining Sutter Medical Group.

Alongside his work in internal medicine, Dr. Droubay has pursued a professional and personal interest in nutrition and lifelong health. He earned a master’s in public health nutrition from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, and he is certified through the American Board of Nutrition. Dr. Droubay has published work on the effects of dietary fats on serum cholesterol and tissue oxygenation and spent years promoting a diet centered on plant-based whole foods, which he follows himself.

In retirement, Peter E. Droubay focuses on staying fit by a number of ‘fun’ exercises. This includes daily swimming,. He likes walking and so plays golf about 3 times a week to get about 4 miles of walking. He plays some tennis, some sand volleyball, snd some cycling. He does daily some pull ups, push ups, and stretching exercises. He also uses a mini-trampoline. Since 1978, he has been an active member of the Grace Valley Christian Center, where he currently serves on the board of directors and the medical team. He enjoys daily bible study, using greek and english texts. He enjoys weekly fellowship with other believers and church members.
